For a 2024 personal project consisting of a lot of rotoscoping - here is the story of how I got my pet budgie, Banana, and how much she has come to mean to me over the years. I will have to make an updated version eventually since she passed away in December of 2024.

For Campus Movie Fest 2023, I created a short film based on the imagery I imagined while listening to an electronic music piece I made in the past. I revamped the original song with better, cleaner virtual instruments, wrote the story, designed the bug characters, animated them, and put it all together in two weeks, and placed nationally in the Campus Movie Fest Jury awards.

For Campus Movie Fest 2020, I wrote a poem about my identity as a mixed race Dominican and white girl. This was my first venture into the world of animation aside from just short gifs, and I completely dove in without any knowledge or training, just because I had always wanted to animate, but was too afraid of my lack of skill to take the first step. The excitement and pressure of Campus Movie Fest inspired me to take the risk.

For my first ever animation class in college, we were learning the ropes of Adobe After Effects, and were given the assignment of making a full puppet-ish animation made of found parts from copyright free images. I took interest in traditional Japanese wood block paintings called Nihonga. I dug deep into the internet archive of such paintings, cut up all the pieces I would use for my animation, composed an original song for it, and animated the project.

As an assignment in my animation class, we were to animate a 1 second clip of something transforming into another. I took inspiration from a kitsune girl design I saw in an artbook. I created my own character and made it into a sketchy-style black and white animation with hints of red.

For my animation class we were to create a 1 second silhouette animation of essentially anything, so I made a basic silhouette design of an elf character, loosely used a reference of a 3d character swinging a sword and drew all the frames.

From all the way back in 2019 - for an art class we had to invent a superhero and create a character design for them, and eventually make some sort of media showcasing them. I chose to make an animation frame by frame in Procreate.
