My first ever Spotify/other streaming services release. It describes my conflicting feelings for my abusive, estranged father at this point in my life, with the sound backdrop of samples from the 7 train in NYC, which was a few blocks from the apartment I grew up in with my father. Natsukashii is a Japanese word that means nostalgia, but with a generally positive connotation.
I found myself playing this simple Yahtzee phone game, called Yatzy, and was drawn to the peaceful background music. I wanted to recreate the vibe and ambience it gave off, so I composed an instrumental as my version of the game music.
This was a short ambient piece I did loosely based on the post-apocalyptic short story by Ray Bradbury, of the same name. I really love the peaceful, yet lonely feeling I was able to portray in this little song.
As a part of MonRiverGames, I was tasked with creating music for various scenes in the game. This one was chosen for our mission select screen.
This one was for MonRiverGames as well, as I was tasked with sound/music design for the whole game, since it had none. I wanted something playful and cat-like for our laboratory level, something that would fit with a 2D platformer. An adjuct senior member of our team suggested it might have been too simple in the first draft version, so that's where I added in the 8-bit synth part to spice it up.
A personal fave - I got a new virtual instrument - Sweet Spot by Candy Audio, and tried it out by making this.
